Raptors rest DeRozan vs. Bucks
Already down starting center Jonas Valanciunas due to a hand injury, the Toronto Raptors rested shooting guard DeMar DeRozan against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night.
It mattered nothing, as the Raptors hammered the Bucks 107-89.
The Raptors were on the second night of a back-to-back, and DeRozan played 39 minutes Monday in a loss to the Chicago Bulls. Two nights before that, he played 43 in an overtime win over the Miami Heat.
DeRozan, who has played in each of the Raptors' 65 games this season, ranks seventh in the NBA this season in total minutes played. The 26-year-old, two-time All-Star leads Toronto in scoring with 23.8 points per game, while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and a career-best 32.8 percent from 3-point range.
Rookie Norman Powell drew the start in DeRozan's place, earning his keep with a career-high 17 points in 35 gritty minutes.
