Tempers flared between two unlikely parties during Monday's Cavaliers-Jazz game in Utah, as Channing Frye and rookie Trey Lyles were ejected for their parts in a fourth-quarter exchange.
With 3:57 remaining in the fourth quarter, Lyles appeared to make contact with Frye's groin, and the Cavaliers big man appeared to take as a deliberate blow.
The original call on the play was an offensive foul on Lyles, but by the time the exchange was complete, both bigs were ejected. Frye was given a Flagrant-2 for headbutting and taking a swing at Lyles, while Lyles was handed a second technical foul for his part in the skirmish.
The delay caused by the altercation and ensuing review saw play halted for more than 10 minutes.
