Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas departed Monday's contest against the Chicago Bulls with a left hand injury and did not return.
Valanciunas apparently got his hand tangled in a jersey in the second quarter. X-rays were negative, but further examination diagnosed a contusion. He will be treated "symptomatically," according to the team, presumably meaning his status will be day to day going forward. He will travel with the team for games against the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers Tuesday and Thursday.
The Lithuanian big man missed 17 games earlier this season due to breaking the same hand in November. Valanciunas is Toronto's top rebounder and third on the team in scoring.
