Ty Lawson suffers foot sprain in 1st game for Pacers

FOX Sports

Ty Lawson's debut with the Indiana Pacers was short-lived.

The recently signed point guard left Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs in the second quarter - after just five minutes of action - due to a left foot sprain.

He didn't return, but the Pacers went on to upset the Spurs, 99-91.

Lawson appeared to suffer the injury on one of (or a combination of) two awkward landings - the first after leaping to save a ball from going out of bounds, the next after falling on an unsuccessful drive to the hoop two possessions later.

Before being forced from the game, he picked up a rebound and dished out a pair of assists, missing his lone field-goal attempt.

Lawson - who was bought out by the Houston Rockets last week - is posting career worsts in scoring average (5.8), field-goal percentage (38.7), 3-point percentage (33), and PER (9.0) this season.
