Bucks' Mayo fractures ankle falling down stairs, out for season

Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard O.J. Mayo will miss the rest of the season with a fractured right ankle, the team confirmed Thursday.
Mayo hurt himself when he tripped while descending stairs in his home, the statement said.
The eight-year veteran missed Wednesday's win over the Miami Heat. Mayo started 24 of 41 games for Milwaukee this season, shooting only 37.1 percent from the floor with 7.8 points per game. He missed several contests earlier in the year due to a hamstring issue.
The Bucks' dreams of the playoffs and building on last season's improvements are all but over as they sit 6 1/2 games out of eighth place in the East going into Thursday's action. The team has already lost starting point guard Michael Carter-Williams to a season-ending hip injury.
