Kris Humphries waived by Suns, reportedly commits to sign with Hawks
The Phoenix Suns have waived veteran power forward Kris Humphries, the team announced Sunday.
He's reportedly committed to sign with the Atlanta Hawks, a source told Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.
Humphries was acquired by the Suns as a part of a package which sent Markieff Morris to the Washington Wizards prior to the trade deadline. DeJuan Blair and a top-nine protected 2016 first-round pick also moved to Phoenix in the deal.
The 12-year veteran donned a Suns uniform for four games prior to being waived, his minutes steadily decreasing during that stretch.
In his first appearance with the franchise against the Houston Rockets on Feb. 19, Humphries finished with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, although Phoenix still wound up getting crushed on its home floor by 16 points.
Claiming team for Humphries would be responsible for $4.4m cap hit but only owe $1.1m in salary for the remainder of the season.

For his career, Humphries is averaging 6.9 points and 5.6 rebounds on 46.6 percent shooting.
