Martin and the Timberwolves are in "advance buyout negotiations" to make him a free agent, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Martin hasn't played more than 14 minutes or scored more than give points in any of his last three games. The Timberwolves need to play youngsters like Zach Lavine and Tyus Jones as much as possible, and that has left Martin squeezed out of the rotation. Even though his scoring average has dropped all the way to 10.6 per game this year, he's still shooting 36.9 percent from three-point land, and there will be a contender that wants to add his touch.
