After scoring a career-high 43 points in a hard-fought victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, Toronto Raptors All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry will get Sunday night off to rest as his team visits the Palace of Auburn Hills to take on the Detroit Pistons.

Cory Joseph is expected to get the start in his place.

Lowry played every minute in the second half against Cleveland and hit the game-winner over an outstretched Matthew Dellavedova with 3.3 seconds remaining to knock off the Eastern Conference leaders.

This will be the first game of the 2015-16 season Lowry misses. He's currently averaging 37 minutes of action per contest, which ranks third in the NBA.

The 29-year-old is also averaging a career-best 21.4 points on 43.6 percent shooting, along with 6.4 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.2 steals for the 39-18 Raptors.

A win for Toronto sans Lowry would move the team within one game of the Cavaliers - who fell to the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon without LeBron James - for first place in the East
