Spurs' Leonard misses 3rd straight game with calf tightness

Peter Llewellyn-USA TODAY Sports

Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs missed his third consecutive game Sunday due to left calf tightness. San Antonio defeated the Phoenix Suns 118-111.

The issue may be reaching a concerning stage for the Spurs, with the team wrapping up a three-game in four-night stretch. Leonard started last weekend's All-Star Game but has not played a meaningful contest since Feb. 10.

The 24-year-old is averaging 20.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, while shooting a league-leading 48.2 percent from beyond the arc. Last year's Defensive Player of the Year ranks fourth in win shares (9.8), fourth in box plus-minus (8.1), and fifth in player efficiency rating (25.7).

Leonard missed 18 games last season with a severe hand injury.
