Brandon Jennings: Headed to Orlando

Jennings was traded to the Magic on Tuesday along with Ersan Ilyasova in exchange for Tobias Harris, Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio reports.

Analysis:

After toiling as the backup point guard behind Reggie Jackson with the Pistons since returning from an Achilles injury in December, Jennings will join a similarly crowded backcourt in Orlando that includes Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo. All of Jennings, Payton, and Oladipo, Evan Fournier figure to battle for two starting spots in the backcourt, while the remaining two players settle for high-usage roles off the bench. In his 23 games this season with the Pistons, Jennings averaged 6.8 points, two rebounds, and three assists in 18 minutes, all of which represent career-low figures. Jennings' prior history with Magic coach Scott Skiles from their days in Milwaukee should allow the 26-year-old to earn more run in his new locale, but it's tough to predict how exactly the minutes will be distributed among the guards. As a result, Jennings may only be worth a speculative roster add in deeper leagues.
