Pistons acquire Harris for Ilyasova, Jennings

One year into a four-year, $64-million contract, Tobias Harris' days in Orlando are over.

The Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic finalized a trade Tuesday that sends Ersan Ilyasova and Brandon Jennings to Orlando in exchange for Harris.

Detroit would not send any additional picks in the proposed deal, sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe.

A report on Feb. 8 suggested the Magic would be open to dealing Harris to become "more seasoned." The Magic are the third-youngest team in the league, while Ilyasova and Jennings are veterans with proven track records.

Jennings and Ilyasova also give the Magic an influx of 3-point shooting: Jennings is shooting 31.2 percent from deep while Ilyasova is hitting at a 36.3 percent clip from long range. Orlando currently ranks 22nd in 3-pointers made and 24th in offensive rating.

The deal creates more financial flexibility for Orlando as both players are on expiring contracts (Ilyasova's $8-million figure for 2016-17 is unguaranteed).

As for Detroit, the 23-year-old Harris gives the Pistons the prototypical stretch-four that Stan Van Gundy's long been seeking. The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 13.7 points and seven rebounds per game and is a solid two-way threat.
