Houston Rockets power forward Terrence Jones was involved in a car accident en route to his team's flight on Wednesday, according to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen.

He will not play Thursday night against the Phoenix Suns.

Jones was not injured in the accident, sources tell Feigen, but the team has decided to let him sit out the team's one-game road trip to Phoenix.

The Rockets will return home on Saturday to take on the Portland Trail Blazers before heading out on the road again for two games against the Golden State Warriors and Blazers before All-Star Weekend.

The 24-year-old Kentucky product has missed six games this season, including a five-game stretch in November with a cut right eyelid.

He sat all but 33 games in 2014-15 due to inflammation in his left leg, a bout with the flu, and a partially collapsed lung.

In 45 appearances this season for the 26-25 Rockets, Jones is averaging 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds on 45.1 percent shooting in 22.3 minutes per game.
