Chris Bosh 'absolutely' interested in 3-point shootout

In an era dominated by stretch-fours and even the occasional stretch-five, it would only make sense that some were featured at All-Star Weekend.

Enter Chris Bosh, a reigning three-time Shooting Stars champion that's been displaced from his contest de jour due to its cancellation. In lieu of other options, Bosh is hoping to battle Stephen Curry and company in the Three-Point Contest.

"If the NBA asks me, absolutely," Bosh told Shandel Richardson of the Sun-Sentinel. "That would be something else. I haven't inquired."

Bosh, who came into the league as a deadly mid-range shooter, has stretched his range well beyond the 3-point line. Over the past two seasons, Bosh boasts a robust 37.4 percent mark from deep with over four attempts per game.

There might be some concern, however, with Bosh's deliberate delivery. Tossing up 25 shots from five locations around the court in the span of a minute is a difficult task for most guards, let alone big men who have to curl their way around the perimeter before uncorking a relatively slow release.

That being said, there have been multiple bigs who have won the competition. Larry Bird was a three-time winner, Dirk Nowitzki took home the title in 2006, and most recently, Kevin Love won in 2012. And if Bosh were to win, he'd become just the second player in history (and the last, now that the contest is gone) to win both the Three-Point Contest and the Shooting Stars challenge.
