LeBron joins rare company in scoring, assists during win over Pistons

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

LeBron James hit two significant milestones in Friday night's 114-102 win over the Detroit Pistons. He became only the 17th player in NBA history to score 26,000 career points, and also passed Derek Harper for 20th all time in league assists.

By the end of this season, James could pass up to seven players on the career scoring list and reach as high as 10th all time. The list includes names like Hakeem Olajuwon and Dominique Wilkins, as well as still-active players like Tim Duncan, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett.

After passing Harper in the assists category, James finished the game with eight dimes. He now stands at 6,582 career assists - 129 behind Kevin Johnson on the all-time list. At his current pace, he'll surpass Johnson and 18th-place Muggsy Bogues this season.
