Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's home game against the Boston Celtics, the team announced.
The 22-year-old took a shot to the face as Celtics guard Marcus Smart went up for a slam dunk early in the second quarter. Team officials had trouble stopping his nose from bleeding in the locker room, according to ESPN's Chris Mannix.
Beal had four points on 2-of-6 shooting, a rebound, an assist, and three turnovers in nine minutes off the bench.
This was his fifth game back for Washington after missing 16 contests with a stress reaction in his right fibula.
He's averaging a career-high 19.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 21 appearances for the 20-21 Wizards.
