Being on pace to win over 30 games for the first time since the 2007-08 season isn't enough to keep the Sacramento Kings out of the trade rumor mill.

The Kings and New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly discussed a deal that would send forward Rudy Gay to Louisiana, league sources tell Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The reported deal would see Eric Gordon and Alonzo Gee head to Sacramento, however it appears that Kings management is unwilling to pull the trigger on the move.

Gay was recently linked to the Pelicans in a report by Sheridan Hoops' Michael Scotto, although that report mentioned Ryan Anderson's name as a potential Kings acquisition in a straight swap for Gay.

"Just another day in the life," Gay said about the rumor on Thursday, according to the Sacramento Bee's Jason Jones.

Gay, 29, is in the first year of a three-year, $40-million extension he signed with the franchise in November 2014. In his second full season with the Kings, the Connecticut product is averaging 18 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from deep over 37 games.
