The Boston Celtics held down the fort on Monday night with a 103-94 victory over the Brooklyn Nets as Avery Bradley sat with a left hip pointer. They'll look to carry that success over to their next two games, as it appears the 25-year-old shooting guard won't be in the lineup for those outings either.

Head coach Brad Stevens said Tuesday that Bradley is unlikely to play Jan. 6 against the Detroit Pistons and the next night on the road against the Chicago Bulls, according to MetroWest Daily News' Scott Souza.

The injury occurred during the second quarter of Saturday's 100-97 loss to the Nets. Bradley was ruled out in the second half with a left hip contusion.

"He was really sore yesterday," Stevens said Monday, according to the Boston Herald's Mike Murphy. "I don't know what that means for the rest of the week, but when he got hit he got a hip pointer. He said it really swelled up quickly. And it was very uncomfortable yesterday for him to sit, cough (or) move. So just a typical hip pointer - typical bad hip pointer."

In his sixth season wearing Celtics green, Bradley is averaging 14.7 points and 2.4 rebounds, connecting on 38.2 percent of his attempts from 3-point range.
