Kenneth Faried (neck) requires stay in hospital after injury Saturday.

Faried was taken off the court on a stretcher after suffering an apparent neck injury in an overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

The injury occurred late in the overtime period, when Faried appeared to get hit with an inadvertent elbow while competing for a rebound. Faried was able to give a thumbs up to fans as he was leaving the arena, and though he said he felt better after being placed onto the stretcher, he will be held for at least one night for observation. There has been no word on a timetable for return for Faried, but it is likely that he will miss at least one contest, as he did not travel with the team to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers on Sunday. Darrell Arthur will likely be a candidate for extended minutes for as long as Faried is sidelined.
