Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams has been upgraded to probable for Friday night's match against the Miami Heat, according to Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com.

The 31-year-old has missed the last four games with a strained left hamstring, with the Mavericks going 4-0 without him. Williams is averaging 14.8 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in 2015-16.

If Williams does return, there is no guarantee that he will resume his role as the starting point guard. Former backup J.J. Barea has been terrific in his absence, averaging 22.3 points, 6.8 assists, and shooting an absurd 69.2 percent from 3-point range over the last four contests.
