In the middle of the month, LeBron James hospitalized golfer Jason Day's wife Ellie after crashing into her while diving for a loose ball.
On New Year's Eve, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard saw his errant pass sail over the head of teammate Marcus Thorton, nailing a poor woman sitting in the front row.
