Jimmy Butler says he needs to lead better as he's praised by Hoiberg

Following Saturday night's 107-91 loss to the New York Knicks, Jimmy Butler opted to rip head coach Fred Hoiberg, claiming he wasn't tough enough on the Chicago Bulls players.

Following the onslaught, Hoiberg and Butler met Sunday to try and salvage their rocky relationship.

Butler said the two had a "good talk," but didn't feel he was calling out Hoiberg. The 26-year-old did admit he needs to be a better leader, though.

After losing two straight, the Bulls currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference at 15-10. Butler has been inconsistent during that stretch, dropping 43 points Friday, but just 12 against the Knicks.

Hoiberg says he wasn't hurt by Butler's comments and actually praised the shooting guard's leadership ability.

"I know how passionate Jimmy Butler is. I think he has the tools to be a good leader," Hoiberg said to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. "I know emotions are part of this game. I was in it as a player for 10 years. I saw it in a front office. We learn from the comments."

Butler and Hoiberg will try to bury the hatchet as they set to face the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night.
