Bucks' Vasquez undergoes foot surgery; out 3-4 months
Milwaukee Bucks point guard Greivis Vasquez underwent surgery Tuesday morning to remove a bone spur and loose bodies from his right foot, the team announced.
Head coach Jason Kidd says Vasquez will miss three to four months.
Vasquez had missed the team's last nine games with what was first diagnosed as a simple sore ankle, but his extended absence must have pushed the Bucks to re-evaluate.
The 28-year-old guard has mostly been a disappointment in his first season with the Bucks. There was some hope that Vasquez could potentially take over as the team's starting point guard, but he shot just 34.2 percent from the field and 24.5 percent from deep, along with his usually lethargic defense, in 16 appearances.
Vasquez, acquired in an offseason trade with the Toronto Raptors, will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
