76ers' Noel to sit out again vs. Hawks with eye abrasion
If the Philadelphia 76ers can somehow secure their second victory of the regular season on Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, it will be without 6-foot-11 big man Nerlens Noel in the lineup.
Noel has been ruled out for the second consecutive game with a corneal abrasion in his left eye, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey.
The injury occurred Sunday at the Air Canada Centre against the Toronto Raptors. Noel took an elbow from point guard Kyle Lowry in the third quarter which forced him from the game.
In 21 appearances this season, Noel is averaging 9.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.4 steals on 43.1 percent shooting.
Jerami Grant got the start for Philadelphia in Noel's stead on Monday in a 115-96 loss to the Chicago Bulls, scoring six points and blocking five shots in 27 minutes of action.
