Rubio expected to play Tuesday vs. Magic

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to have a huge boost to their lineup when they face the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.

Ricky Rubio could return after missing the last two contests with an ankle injury he suffered last Wednesday versus the Atlanta Hawks. The 6-foot-4 Spanish point guard practiced fully Monday afternoon.

Minnesota has been abysmal this year with Rubio out of the lineup, going just 1-5. The Timberwolves have a net rating of plus-8.3 with him on the court and a minus-5.4 when he sits.

Rubio is averaging 10.7 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, with a player efficiency rating of 17.67.

Tuesday night's contest will be the first in a four-game homestand for the T-Wolves, where they've surprisingly struggled this season with a record of 2-6.
