PHOTO: Nets' Hollis-Jefferson has his own back with tattoo of himself

Brooklyn Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson took a page out of "Jackass" star Steve-O's book: When it came to getting ink, the 20-year-old did not hesitate to pay homage to, well, himself.

He explained the reasoning behind the back piece to Newsday's Roderick Boone on the weekend.

"I was getting a story (tattooed) on my back about where I started, where I am coming from. Just the stepping stones," Hollis Jefferson said. "And this was the biggest picture of the portrait I was getting. So I was like, 'Let me get that out of the way.' And I tell people I will get it finished in the future, the whole thing. But now I tell them, 'Nah, that's just me watching my back.'"

While the Nets small forward had this self-portrait done over a year ago - after his freshman year at Arizona - the popularity of his bold body art has been kept alive by the wonders of social media.

Should "The Mid-Range Assassin" achieve a long pro career full of worthwhile highlights, he may run out of canvas to commemorate such milestones.
