Report: Sergey Karasev seeking trade from Nets

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

It's become clear that the 2-10 Brooklyn Nets have no interest in using Sergey Karasev, as the 22-year-old Russian has totaled just six minutes of action over three games to begin the 2015-16 season.

And that's enough to make Karasev want out of Brooklyn.

In a recent interview with Russia's SovSport, Karasev's father Vasily mentioned that his son was discussing trade scenarios in an effort to be moved by the team. ESPN's Mike Mazzeo later confirmed that the 6-foot-7 forward is, in fact, looking to be dealt.

Karasev was selected 19th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2013 NBA Draft. He landed with the Nets last season after being involved in a three-team trade that also landed point guard Jarrett Jack in Brooklyn, and sent center Tyler Zeller to the Boston Celtics.

Last year, he averaged 4.6 points and two rebounds in 33 appearances (16 starts), before having his season end in March after sustaining a torn medial collateral ligament, a dislocated patella, and multiple loose bodies in his right knee.
