Markieff Morris expected back for Suns against Bulls

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Power forward Markieff Morris is expected to return from a two-game absence Wednesday when the Phoenix Suns host the Chicago Bulls.

Morris sat out the last two games, both Phoenix victories, with a left knee sprain. The absences ended his streak of 171 consecutive games played, which was the sixth-longest current stretch in the NBA.

"It was my first two times not suiting up. It was a hard decision to make, but it’s early and I need to be healthy for the rest of the season," Morris said, according to The Arizona Republic's Zach Buchanan. "I'm not worried about the streak."

Morris is averaging 13 points and five rebounds in seven games this season, after spending most of the summer demanding a trade out of Phoenix.
