Grizzlies' Randolph won't play vs. Mavericks

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Memphis Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph will not play Tuesday when his team hosts the Dallas Mavericks.

After being listed as active, it's been decided Randolph will sit for the third straight game with knee soreness. Matt Barnes will start as the Grizzlies go small against Dallas. With offseason pickup Brandan Wright on the shelf with his own knee injury, JaMychal Green started the last two games in Randolph's place.

Knee soreness is a fact of life for the 34-year-old Randolph, who sat out a nine-game stretch last season with swelling in his right knee. The 15-year veteran's numbers are slightly down so far this season at 14.5 points and 8.7 rebounds in 12 games.

The Grizzlies had their four-game winning streak snapped Saturday in San Antonio against the Spurs.
