Kings' Collison day to day with hamstring strain, won't play Monday

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Sacramento Kings point guard Darren Collison sat out Saturday's loss to the Golden State Warriors, and will miss at least one more game with a left hamstring strain.

The Kings announced Collison, who's listed as day to day, will be sidelined for Monday's tilt with the San Antonio Spurs.

The veteran underwent an MRI after suffering the injury Friday against the Houston Rockets, and told CSN Bay Area's James Ham the results were "not good."

An extended absence will be bad news for the Kings, who are already in a significant hole at 1-6 and dealing with an injury to All-NBA center DeMarcus Cousins.

Collison, who has been the Kings' first man off the bench and also, at various points, shared the backcourt with starting point guard Rajon Rondo, is averaging 15.8 points and 5.2 assists in 30.7 minutes per game.
