Grizzlies fire back at Clippers' social media shot

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Fans of the Memphis Grizzlies were unhappy with the Los Angeles Clippers' social media department Tuesday night, and it became clear Thursday that Grizzlies players felt the same way.

"It's childish," guard Courtney Lee said, referring to the Clippers' tweet that tried to put a positive spin on L.A.'s loss to the Golden State Warriors, saying at least they "didn't lose by 50" like the Grizzlies had the previous night.

The tweet was later deleted by the Clippers, but lives on thanks to screenshotting.

"That's what they got to do to overshadow their loss," Lee said. "Last time I heard, a loss is a loss. But that's what they do over there."

Grizzlies shooting guard Tony Allen took it a step further, suggesting the person who tweeted the comment should be out of a job.

"You ever seen the movie 'White Men Can't Jump'? It's like those brothers would rather look good in a loss than look bad in a win," Allen said. "Whoever is in charge of their Twitter should be fired. I've never seen anybody broadcast losing. Who's proud of losing - whether it's by one, two, three, or 50? Enough said."
