Wesley Matthews: Will play Sunday against Lakers

Matthews (Achilles) will play in Sunday's game against the Lakers, Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Analysis:

Matthews sat out Thursday against the Clippers for precautionary reasons but is in line for his second outing of the season Sunday. He played 26 minutes during the opener against Phoenix and he'll likely be in store for a similar workload as the Mavericks look to limit his minutes at the onset of the season after tearing his Achilles tendon this past March while still playing for Portland.
