Paul Pierce: 'I would never wear a rival's shoe'

It's no secret that Paul Pierce is strict when it comes to his shoe game - he even banned his Washington Wizards teammates from wearing LeBron James' shoes to practice.

So it should come as no surprise that the Los Angeles Clippers' offseason addition revealed to Kicks on Fire that he would never be spotted rocking his competitor's signature sneakers.

This means that the NBA veteran is determined to skip out not only on James' shoes, but also on kicks from Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant.

"I would never wear a rival's shoe," Pierce explained.

"You know, LeBron's been a rival for years, Kobe in the Finals a couple of times. If anything, I would wear something neutral you know like … actually, not even Kevin Durant, especially now that I'm in the Western Conference. If I was still in the East, I might consider it. If anything, I would wear a Jordan or a throwback Penny. I'm actually a huge Penny Hardaway fan."

Solid choice.
