PHOTO: LeBron poses with Tristan Thompson, encourages Cavs to 'get it done'
All LeBron James wants is his teammate back.
Posing with Tristan Thompson while attending a wedding Saturday, the four-time Most Valuable Player made things crystal clear to the Cleveland Cavaliers: get a deal done with the 24-year-old power forward.
Thompson is currently at a standstill with the franchise over a new contract, with the deadline to extend him a qualifying offer now long gone. Without a deal, Thompson has elected not to attend the team's training camp as negotiations continue.
A five-year, $80-million contract was reportedly offered to the 6-foot-9 big, although agent Rich Paul and Thompson's camp are looking for something in the ballpark of $94 million over five years.
Had Thompson accepted a qualifying offer, he would have been able to enter unrestricted free agency next summer after playing out the 2015-16 campaign on a one-year, $6.9-million deal.
Playing all 82 games last season, Thompson averaged 8.5 points and eight rebounds on 54.7 percent shooting. His role increased during Cleveland's postseason run as starter Kevin Love missed time due to a shoulder injury he suffered during the opening round.
