Carl Landry: Set to return in November

Landry's (wrist) timetable for returning to game action has been set at about 5-to-6 weeks, according to 76ers head coach Brett Brown, Tom Moore of Calkins Media reports.

Analysis:

Landry is still recovering from June wrist surgery and is expected to be off the court throughout training camp as he works to regain strength. The timetable in place will more than likely sideline him for the season opener, but he should be on track to make his season debut at some point in early-to-mid November. In addition to relaying the injury news, Brown mentioned that Landry should be a solid locker-room presence for the NBA wisdom he can provide to the younger players on the team. However, his leadership skills aren't likely to earn him extended run in a starting role, though he could ultimately emerge as a key bench big behind Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor.
