Jason Maxiell has reportedly signed a contract with Tianjin Steel of the Chinese Basketball League (CBA), according to Basketball Insiders' David Pick.
Details of the deal were undisclosed, however Pick confirmed that the 32-year-old power forward's new pact does not include an opt-out clause that would enable Maxiell to leave the CBA to join an NBA team mid-season.
Maxiell played in the NBA for 10 seasons, logging career averages of 5.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and a slightly below league average 13 PER.
The Cincinnati product was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the No. 26 pick in the 2005 draft. After being a serviceable backup big man for the Pistons for the first eight seasons of his career, Maxiell spent 2013-14 with the Orlando Magic, and 2014-15 with the Charlotte Hornets.
