VIDEO: Tracy McGrady has jersey retired in China
All it took was one season playing competitive basketball in China for Tracy McGrady to have his jersey raised to the rafters.
Following his 16-season run in the NBA, McGrady took his talents to the Chinese Basketball Association to play for the Qingdao Double Star Eagles in 2012-13, averaging 25 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 29 appearances.
That, along with the numerous exhibitions he'd play when returning to the country, was enough for T-Mac to be honored with a retirement ceremony following his final tour in China.
It's unclear whether it's the Double Star Eagles or the CBA at large retiring the No. 1 jersey.
McGrady, 36, suited up for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, and Houston Rockets in the NBA, while having cups of coffee near the end of his career with the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, and San Antonio Spurs.
He officially announced his retirement during an episode of ESPN's "First Take" on Aug. 26, 2013.
In 938 regular-season games, the seven-time NBA All-Star and two-time scoring champion averaged 19.6 points, 5.6 boards, and 4.4 dimes while shooting 43.5 percent from the field.
