Kevin Jairaj / USA TODAY Sports

Dirk Nowitzki, one of the greatest NBA shooters of all time, recently shared some trade secrets for aspiring players.

The Dallas Mavericks forward, who has shot 87.9 percent from the free-throw line over his 17-year career, said on the Awesome Boring podcast that he occasionally sings "Mr. Jones" to calm himself down at the charity stripe.

After sharing his parable, Nowitzki sang a few bars from the song.

Nowitzki, who shades on the side of goofy, is rather fond of singing.
