Cavaliers re-sign James Jones to reported 1-year, minimum deal

James Jones will suit up once more alongside LeBron James as the tandem embark on a sixth-consecutive Finals appearance.

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced the signing of Jones on Saturday. Terms of his deal were not released, per team policy, but Jones reportedly signed a one-year deal worth the veteran's minimum.

Jones has served the exact same role for the entirety of his 12-year career. He is a spot-up shooter who can passably defend wings and smallball fours in occasional stretches. Jones shot 36 percent from deep last season and averaged 4.4 points per game.

With a healthy roster, Jones figures to slot in as a deep bench contributor for the Cavaliers. Jones will turn 35 before the season starts and has logged fewer than 700 minutes in each of the last four seasons.
