Paul Pierce on joining Clippers: 'I think this is where I'm going to end it'

Paul Pierce thinks his legendary basketball career will end wearing a Los Angeles Clippers uniform.

The 37-year-old Oakland, Calif. native made it clear during an introductory press conference with his new Clippers teammates Tuesday that his upcoming run in L.A. will be where he takes his final curtain call.

"This is probably the last ride of my career," said Pierce, according to ESPN's J.A. Adande. "I think this is where I'm going to end it."

"The Truth" agreed to a reported three-year, $10-million contract this summer after spending last season with the Washington Wizards. The third year of his deal will include a team option.

This will be the fourth team the 10-time All-Star has suited up for in the last four years, having also played for the Brooklyn Nets in 2013-14, and the Boston Celtics for 15 seasons prior to that.

He currently ranks 30th all-time in games played (1,250), 19th in points (25,899), 22nd in steals (1,715), and fourth in 3-pointers made (2,053).

Even as one of the league's elder statesmen, Pierce still has plenty to offer for a team striving for an NBA championship like the Clippers. He can't be counted on to carry an offense, but can still hit big shots in high-pressure situations, evident by his game-winner in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Atlanta Hawks.

In 73 games last season, Pierce averaged 11.9 points on 44.7 percent shooting, including four rebounds and two assists with a PER of 15.2.
