VIDEO: LeBron sinks seated sideline shot in Vegas

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

When LeBron James was a rookie, the Las Vegas Summer League didn't exist.

There were summer pro leagues spread out across the country, but nothing with the scope and quality of today's tournaments, which have become a must-see part of the almost year-round NBA schedule for die-hards.

Even James, a dozen years removed from his own Boston Summer League action, had his interest piqued - or he just wanted a reason to go to Vegas - and showed up as the summer Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Perhaps nostalgic for the days when his legacy didn't yet speak for itself, James got in on the action during a break in play.

Without getting up from his seat on the sidelines, James sank one from deep:

Pretty good, this prospect.

James had some interesting company in Vegas - tagging along with the four-time MVP, head coach David Blatt, and assistant Tyronn Lue was Russian center Sasha Kaun, who could be eyeing a jump to the NBA.
