Report: Caron Butler agrees to 2-year, $3-million deal with Kings

The Sacramento Kings called Caron Butler on his finger phone and eventually managed to land the veteran swingman.

Butler agreed to a two-year deal with the Kings, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Butler will earn $3 million over two years, reports Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today. His deal also includes a player option for the second season.

The 35-year-old drew interest from a number of contenders, but eventually opted for the Kings. He's nearing the end of his 13-year career, and spent last season toiling away on the Detroit Pistons, where he averaged 5.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per game.

In Butler the Kings are bringing a veteran leader into a shaky locker room. He also brings a somewhat reliable 3-point shot, as he connected on 37.9 percent of his 3-point tries last season.

With Marco Belinelli and Ben McLemore entrenched as the team's starting wings, expect Butler to come off the bench.
