NBA Finals - Game 6: Warriors win 1st championship since 1975

11:59 p.m. ET - And that does it. The Warriors complete one of the most dominant seasons in NBA history with a fitting championship, giving the franchise its first title since 1975 with a 105-97 Game 6 win in Cleveland.

11:56 p.m. ET - J.R. Smith's luck finally runs out on his bevy of late threes, and Andre Iguodala knocks down a free throw to give the Warriors a 104-97 lead.

11:47 p.m. ET - The celebration might as well be on in the Bay Area. The Warriors are up 98-89 and are a minute away from the franchise's first championship in 40 years.

11:37 p.m. ET - He'll quickly forget it when he's popping champagne and celebrating a title with his teammates, but Klay Thompson fouls out of Game 6 to cap an all-around disappointing series for the All-NBA guard.

11:33 p.m. ET - Iguodala drills another three, something he and Curry have done at obscenely efficient levels in the fourth quarters of this series.

Warriors up 94-79 with 4:37 to go.

11:27 p.m. ET - Steph Curry dribbles out of trouble and fires a sublime skip-pass to Klay Thompson, whose corner-three gives the Warriors an 89-75 lead midway through the fourth quarter.

A couple of Iman Shumpert free throws cut the lead to 89-77, but the Warriors can taste the champagne.

11:20 p.m. ET - LeBron James has the Cavs within seven after this steal and slam:

James is up to 26 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and two steals. He's also been on the court for 37 of 38 minutes so far.

11:10 p.m. ET - Festus Ezeli can't convert at the rim after a pretty Golden State in-bounds play out of a timeout, but the Warriors take a 73-61 lead into the fourth quarter after pushing the lead to 15 earlier in the third.

11:00 p.m. ET - Festus Ezeli has made his presence felt.

Warriors by 12 (69-57) with 2:36 remaining in the third quarter.

10:53 p.m. ET - The Warriors are starting to pull away again, with another Andre Iguodala dunk giving them a 61-51 lead midway through the third quarter.

Iguodala is turning in another fine performance, posting 17 points, five assists, two rebounds, and two steals through 23 minutes, in addition to his usually staunch defense.

10:43 p.m. ET - A Green three caps an 8-0 Warriors run to quickly erase Cleveland's first lead since early in the first quarter. 53-47 Dubs with 8:17 remaining in the third.

10:40 p.m. ET - Draymond Green is trying to dunk everything. From everywhere.

J.R. Smith didn't look all that interested in David Blatt's halftime message:

10:20 p.m. ET - Tristan Thompson throws down another offensive rebound to cut the Warriors lead to two - 45-43 - at the half.

The Cavs' dominance on the glass has been a key factor in them staying in the game thus far, as they rebounded an incredible 38 percent of their misses in the first half.

Cleveland's also made 21 trips to the free-throw line compared to the Warriors' four free-throw attempts, and did a better job of taking care of the ball in the second quarter, turning it over four times after committing nine turnovers in the opening period.

LeBron, meanwhile, led all first-half scorers with 15 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists, and a steal, joining another exclusive NBA club in the process.

10:17 p.m. ET - Stephen Curry's left hand is better than yours. 45-39 Warriors with 1:39 to go in the second quarter.

10:12 p.m. ET - We have a David Lee sighting with three-and-a-half minutes left in the first half!

10:10 p.m. ET - Andre Iguodala could start his offseason with a flopping warning:

10:05 p.m. ET - The teams trade at-the-rim fails with a couple of botched alleyoops and put-backs. Mozgov knocks down a pair of free throws after a hard Green foul, however, to cut the deficit to six points.

10:02 p.m. ET - Timofey Mozgov may be somewhat out of place with the Warriors trotting out super-small lineups, but the Cavs' center has been a formidable interior presence in the first half of Game 6. Mozgov has already recorded three blocks and altered a number of additional Warriors attempts.

Still, Golden State leads 37-29 midway through the second.

9:58 p.m. ET - Iman Shumpert running through Draymond Green was deemed a common foul rather than a flagrant, but it looked awfully similar to J.R. Smith's Game 5 foul.

9:47 p.m. ET - LeBron bails the Cavs out of a broken possession. That could double as both the description for this second quarter three or the Cavs' postseason as a whole:

James has seven points, six rebounds, two assists, and a steal already, but he's shooting 33 percent (3-of-9) and the Warriors lead 31-24 with 8:56 remaining in the second frame.

9:38 p.m. ET - After the Cavs jumped out to an early 7-2 lead, the Warriors shot their way to a 28-15 advantage through one quarter, putting a 26-8 run together on the back of careless Cavs offense, beautiful ball movement, and their usual dose of threes.

The Warriors recorded 11 assists on 12 made field goals (including four 3-pointers) in the opening frame, while the Cavs turned the ball over nine times.

9:30 p.m. ET - It's starting to rain threes in Cleveland, as Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green convert back-to-back to give the Warriors a 23-15 lead with 1:42 remaining in the first quarter. Cavs turnovers continue to plague them early on, as seven turnovers have led to nine Warriors points as part of a 21-8 run.

9:21 p.m. ET - The Cavs haven't been able to capitalize on the Warriors' early shooting woes, as we hit our first timeout with an 8-8 tie despite 4-of-11 shooting from Golden State. Five Cleveland turnovers in the first six-and-a-half minutes have also gifted the Warriors five extra shots.

9:10 p.m. ET - We're underway at Quicken Loans Arena, with both the Cavaliers and Warriors sticking with the same starting lineups they've trotted out the last couple games.

8:55 p.m. ET - If history is any indication, LeBron should be in for another memorable performance tonight:

Forty years. That's how long some of the league's loudest and most loyal fans have been waiting to celebrate another NBA championship in the Bay Area.

They'll enter Tuesday's Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland with their Golden State Warriors only 48 minutes away from potentially ending that wait - LeBron James and his Cavaliers standing in the way.

King James and the Cavs, meanwhile, won't be able to end Cleveland's 51-year title drought on Tuesday, but they're a home win away from forcing a one-game, winner-take-all contest Friday. And if they can push the series back to Oakland, with an extra day of rest in between, it would be hard to argue against the team with the best player on the planet in a single-game setting.
