Tim Duncan moves past Kareem for 3rd all-time in playoff games played
Tim Duncan continues to climb the leaderboards in the 18th season of his increasingly remarkable NBA career.
After becoming the fifth player in NBA history to score 5,000 playoff points in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, the 39-year-old lifetime San Antonio Spur hit another milestone just by showing up Sunday for Game 4.
The game marked Duncan's 238th postseason contest, moving him past Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for sole possession of third place all-time. Only former Duncan teammate Robert Horry (244) and current New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher (259) have played more.
Duncan, who also ranks third all-time in playoff rebounds, has yet to make his intentions clear, but recent signs point to this potentially being his final NBA season.
It's pretty clear that Duncan still has plenty left in the tank, though, and should he decide to play one or even two more years, he could well find himself at the top of some of these lists.
