Rose (knee) said he has no pain or swelling in his knee and hopes he can start taking contact in practices "this week or next," ESPN Chicago reports.

Analysis:

Rose and the Bulls have been non-committal as far as a return date, with Rose saying "whenever I'm ready to come back, that's when I'm going to come back." The Bulls have only 10 regular season games remaining, and it's Rose's goal to play in at least a few contests to find a groove prior to the start of the playoffs. He said Wednesday that he thinks he'll be able to return after a week or two of full contact practice.
