Cousins unable to practice Thursday due to calf injury, questionable Friday

Ed Szczepanski / USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings may not have anything left to play for, but the Charlotte Hornets sure do, which means they're probably kneeling at the altar of the injury gods right now and praying that DeMarcus Cousins's strained right calf keeps him sidelined when the two teams meet on Friday.

Cousins, averaging career-highs in points (23.7), rebounds (12.3), assists (3.3) and blocks (1.6), missed Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers due to the injury. He was unable to participate in practice on Thursday, and is currently listed as questionable for Friday's game.

The Hornets sit a half-game out of an Eastern Conference playoff spot. They lost to the Kings just over a week ago, with Cousins putting up 20 points and 14 rebounds.
