The Toronto Raptors may be without their All-Star when they take on the Chicago Bulls in a key Eastern Conference battle Friday, as Kyle Lowry's status is considered 50-50 after suffering a back injury Wednesday.

He will travel with the team to Chicago.

Lowry left Wednesday's victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves after injuring his back while driving to the basket and drawing a foul midway through the third quarter.

The team called it a back contusion.

After suiting up in the team's first 58 games, Toronto rested Lowry for three games a couple of weeks ago, and the rest appeared to do him well. The All-Star point guard has averaged more than 18 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals on a 43-49-91 shooting line over the past seven games.

The third-place Raptors lead the Bulls by a half-game in the East standings.

Greivis Vasquez would likely get the start in the event Lowry is forced to sit out.
