LeBron playing Monday against Heat, Love sitting out

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

LeBron James is good to go.

James will play in Monday's contest against the Heat, his second game against his former team since leaving Miami for Cleveland during the offseason. He was considered probable earlier in the day after tweaking his right knee in Sunday's win over the Orlando Magic

The Cavaliers will, however, be without power forward Kevin Love, who's being rested for the second consecutive game. Cavaliers head coach David Blatt told reporters Love will be back for Wednesday's contest against the Brooklyn Nets.

James injured himself during the third quarter Sunday on a blocked-shot attempt. He was in visible discomfort but stayed in the game, finishing with 21 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds to help extend Cleveland's winning streak to four games.

The four-time MVP described the incident as a scary moment, but after receiving some treatment Monday, the tweaked knee wasn't deemed serious enough to keep him from suiting up for the much-anticipated contest.

Miami downed Cleveland on Christmas Day in James' first game back in Miami. He led the Heat to four consecutive Finals appearances, helping them secure two titles during a dominant run alongside fellow All-Stars Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

James is averaging 26 points, 7.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 57 games.
