Report: Wizards expect Nene back on Monday

Brad Mills / USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards expect to get starting big man Nene back when they host the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.

Nene has missed the team's last two games for personal reasons. He was a late scratch just before tipoff against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday and was then held out again Saturday against the Sacramento Kings.

Nene, who missed time earlier this season due to plantar fasciitis, is averaging 11.3 points, five rebounds, two assists and 1.1 steals on 52 percent shooting.

The Wizards have won three straight - and four in a row at home - after losing eight of their previous 10, but Monday's game against the Blazers will be their first real test during this winning streak. Two of their three wins came against the Kings and Charlotte Hornets, while the other came against a Grizzlies team without much of its starting lineup.
