Rudy Gobert scores 19, collects 22 rebounds in lopsided win over Rockets
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert is not of this Earth.
Gobert absolutely smashed the Houston Rockets, scoring 19 points and grabbing 22 rebounds in a dominant two-way performance on Thursday as Utah downed Houston 109-91.
First, the offense. Gobert caught lobs, grabbed putbacks and even tossed in the occasional post-up in a highly efficient showing. He shot 8-of-11 from the field and drained all three of his free-throw attempts. He also collected 12 offensive rebounds, including 10 in the first half.
Defensively, the Stifle Tower was a menace as he single-handedly locked down the paint. Gobert recorded four blocks, many of the highlight variety.
Not to be overshadowed, Jazz swingman Gordon Hayward also came up huge, finishing with 29 points and seven assists, easily besting his counterpart in James Harden, who scored just 15 points on 3-of-13 shooting.
The win extends the Jazz's win streak to four games. Utah has also captured victories in 12 of their last 15 games.
Corey Brewer led the Rockets in points, scoring 25 points in 32 quality minutes off the bench.
