VIDEO: Zeller beats buzzer over outstretched Gobert, Celtics top Jazz

It looked like it was over. It was done.

Gordon Hayward drove to the right block, pulled up for a 14-footer and it fell. There was only a second left on the clock and the Utah Jazz were up 84-83 on the Boston Celtics.

This was ballgame.

But nothing is over until it's over, and the Celtics had one last-ditch effort to take a win and stay in the thick of a wild Eastern Conference playoff race.

With 7-foot menace Rudy Gobert guarding Marcus Smart on the inbound pass, the Celtics called for Smart to lob the ball into the post for Tyler Zeller. Zeller caught it, pivoted for space and - hey, how the heck did Gobert get there already? - went off glass to beat the buzzer

TYLER ZELLER ONIONS

Ballgame, Celtics, as it turns out, with Zeller's bucket counting and pushing the final to 85-84 for the home team.

The Smart-to-Zeller call was somewhat surprising considering Isaiah Thomas had 21 points and seven assists, but the less obvious play worked in this case. Zeller finished with eight points and 11 rebounds, and Smart fought through a terrible 4-of-14 shooting night for seven points, four rebounds and four assists.

Gobert, meanwhile, continued his breakout with 10 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and three blocks, while Hayward finished with 13 points and Trey Burke kicked in 16 points, six rebounds and eight dimes off the bench.

The loss doesn't make a great deal of difference for the Jazz, who are well out of the playoff race, but the win keeps the Celtics within two games of a berth.
